Welcome to our second week of term and what another busy one it has been.

Thank you to all those parents who attended our Ash Wednesday service on Wednesday, we thoroughly enjoyed sharing our song with you and hope that you find time to read our Lenten promises in the corridor outside the classroom.

In RE we talked abut Belonging and thought of different ways we belong to our school and then spent some time designing new school emblems showing what Peppard Primary School means to us, there were some amazing creations and they really displayed how much we all value belonging to our school.

In French Salut Serge helped us to understand some of the French words for different foods and next week we will be putting these words into practise by learning to say I like and I don't like different foods.

We continued to use Silly Billy and Operation Night Monster in Literacy. We discussed what sort of things worry us and thought of different words to describe how we felt when we were worried. We used expanded noun phrases to make a scary thing sound silly which helped quite a lot and even write some using alliteration. We managed to come up with some very creative and funny phrases.

In Maths the Year 2s have really enjoyed adding and subtracting 2 didit numbers using number sqaures, bedaed lines and drawing their own number lines. The Year 2s have been measuring and finding the difference between to lengths, something that they found a littel trickier to grasp.

In Phonics the Year 2s have been working on /er/ spelt 'or' & /or/ spelt 'ar' after w and the Year 1s have been working on the alternative or sound.

We continued to learn about Animals and Humans and thought about the different life stages and what happens to us at each stage. We explored what humans and animals need to survive and then explained why we need air, water and food and what might happen if we didn't have them.

Please remember that full PE kit, including trainers needs to be in school every day.
