Highmoor week commencing 4th February

Date: 9th Feb 2019 @ 10:00am

This week in Highmoor in maths we have continued investigating measurements. Year 4 have been converting between mm, cm amd m and year 3s have been focussing on cm and mm. We have also been creating bar charts to record our measurements and compare them.

In literacy we started the week by looking at Haiku poems. We investigated the pattern that the syllables make - 1st line 5 syllables, 2nd line 7 and final line 5. We wrote our own haikus about winter. They were very good and will be on display in the classroom soon for you to have a look at. We also made story boards and mountains for our mystery story we are planning. We also had a go at telling each other our stories. We will write them next week.

We have continued to practise our Bollywood dance moves in PE and demonstrated some of them to Miss Tillotson in the classroom.

In computing we had to think about how computers process instructions. We were pretending to be computers. We realised that the order in which instructions are given is very important.

In geography we researched which fruit and vegetables grow in the Mediterranean and we then created a display.

We hope you enjoyed our presentation in the church service. We enjoy being able to share our own ideas and words with you.
