Peppard class - 11.02.2022

Date: 11th Feb 2022 @ 4:45pm

Welcome to our week in Peppard class.

This week we have been learning to read and spell two syllable words.  Some of the children have found segmenting for writing a bit tricky.  We are setting up lots of fun and enticing activities to encourage the children to find joy in mark making and writing.  Our secret symbols have been very intriguing and all the children are very keen to make their own!  This is really helping them to understand the link between writing, reading and communication.  And it is really fun too!

In maths, we have been learning to combine groups and add more.  We have enjoyed using a variety of different resources to support our learning.  We have investigated 'part whole', used a ten frame and numicon and also a number line.  We have used our outdoor area to encourage the children to practise their learning through a larger interactive maths resource.

We continued to enjoy our topic of Italy.  We made some delicious pizza, learned about the Mona Lisa and painted our own, and discovered more information about volcanoes.  We watched the Go Jetters in Venice and enjoyed colouring pictures of the Leaning tower of Pisa.

We finished our week with a science experiment and made our own volcanic erruption!

Enjoy the photos!
