Peppard class - 4th March 2022

Date: 3rd Mar 2022 @ 5:34pm

Welcome to our week in peppard class.

In phonics this week, we have been practising our vowel digraphs and writing words and sentences.  The vowel digraphs for the Spring term can be found on the Little Wandle parent page.

Please continue to read with your child every night and write in their reading record book.  We do look at the books daily even if the books are not changed.  It gives us the two way communication to ensure your child is progressing with reading.

In maths this week, we have begun the phase of 9 and 10.  We have represented, sorted and ordered numbers 9 and 10.  We have also explored comoposition of these numbers.  We enjoyed reading a book called '10 black dots' before making our own pictures using dots.  I was so impressed with the mixture of creative and mathematical outcomes from this task.

World book day was a very fun day for all.  We enjoyed the different stories and activities and learning in our teams.

We have started our topic - 'growing'.  We are going to be enjoying the stories - Jack and the Beanstalk and Jasper's beanstalk over this and next week.  We have planted our own beans to observe and make our own diary.
