About Us
ABOUT US – A small school with very wide horizons
Nestled in the idyllic and sleepy setting of Peppard Common, Peppard Primary School looks everything that it is not!
From its Victorian buildings come fresh ideas, encapsulating all that is modern in education; from its classrooms come children sharing a sense of respect and responsibility towards each other. From the staff room comes an enthusiastic and highly motivated faculty of staff committed to guiding each child to achieving his/her best.
A broad curriculum is designed to assist children think outside the box and relate to the real world. Children are set challenges by external professionals who share their own skills in the likes of silversmithing, music, art, sport, and cookery, while extra curricular classes and activities currently include Latin, German, an after-school Sports Club, and a school choir. Each child participates in field trips and class excursions, and residential trips varying from 1 to 4 nights away are organised annually for Key Stage Two (KS2) children.
The School has high expectations of good behaviour and academic standards from its pupils and builds relationships where every child and its family really do matter. Our children’s achievements are celebrated and acknowledged through regular assemblies open to all parents and extended family. Amicable and productive links are also forged with neighbouring schools and the wider community. Participation in inter-schools, local and county events is a part of school life: in 2006 the School was awarded the Silver Artsmark by the Arts Council in recognition of all that the School has achieved in the past years.
Despite its size, Peppard Primary School is a small school with very wide horizons!
