Swimming

Ava: It was our first time going swimming in Speingwood, so we were very excited. When we got there Mrs Elson and Naomi put us into two groups. The lessons were fun and included swimming drills for front crawl, back stroke, kicking and treading water. Then we got to jump in at the deep end a couple of times.

Millie: It was our first time going swimming in Springwood so we were excited. As soon as we got there we did front crawl and back stroke and stuff with floats.  We were split into two groups. One of the groups got to jump into the deep end.

Ufton Court

Ava: For our school trip this week we visited Ufton Court. On arrival we were met by John who was dressed as an Anglo-Saxon. He showed us to a barn where he introduced the day. Next we went outside and explored the Anglo-Saxon village that they had created and we took part in activities such as making fire, wattaling and spinning wool. After lunch we created an Anglo-Saxon court room and role played villagers on trial for crimes such as stealing chickens, murder, stealing cloth and treason.

Science

Ava: For our science experiment we made periscopes with juice cartons and mirrored card. After we finished making the periscopes we could prove that light travels in straight lines.

Millie: For our science experiment we made periscopes in pairs with a carton and mirrors to prove that light travels in straight lines.
