Young Voices

We had an absolutely brillaint time at Young Voices this week. It was such a great experience that we will never forget. In English this week we have been writing newspaper reports and below are two examples written by Finty and Phoebe about our experience.

Young Voices Raise the Roof

By Finty

Yesterday, in the early evening an energetic choir made up of over 4000 school children took part in the world's largest kids concert at the amazing Wembly Arena in London. Young Voices 2022 - the name of a seris of performances throughout the UK, continues to provide an exhilarating opportunity for pupils to showcase their talent. Peppard Primary travelled to Wembly to attend the musical extravaganza and they loved it! Maisey, aged 11, said " The Beatboxers were really cool when they past the sound." Ava, aged 11, said "I loved it when we all sang Hey Jude."   When Peppard arrived everyone was gasping at how many children were there. Jemima, aged 11, said "Coming in was an amzing exerience." Once they sat down they started to rehearse for two and a half hours and they got to meet all the surprise guests like: Ward Thomas, Beat Box Collective, Laura Whright and Urban Strides.  At seven o'clock sharp the lights went out and everybody turned their torches on and screamed. Suddenly there were three heart beats, the lights turned on and the experience of a lifetime began.

Young Voices Raise the Roof

The largest children's choir in the world!

By Phoebe

Yesterday, in the early evening of Tuesday night, an enthusiastic choir made up of over 4000 school children, took part in the world's hugest kids concert at Wembly Arena. Young Voices 2022 - the name of a seris of performanaces throughout the UK, continues to provide an exhilarating opportunity for pupils to collectly showcase their brillaint talents. Peppard Primary, a small school based in South Oxfordshire, travelled to Wembly to attend the musical extravaganza. Phoebe (aged 10) said, "I loved it when Urban Strides got all the children and parents up to party. It was awesome!" On Friday afternoon, all 95 schools came for an epic rehearsal before the performance started. They ran through all of the songs and the conductor, David Lawrence, helped them to make sure they had the notes on point. At the beginning of the performance it went pitch black and all the children turned on teheir torches which lit up the room. Jemima, aged 11 said "It was a long wait until the perforance started but it was worh it." There were so many songs the pupils sang, such as: Sing from your Heart and the Lion King Medlay. During the concert , two artists performed - Laura Whright (who has a voice of an angel) and Ward Thomas who are twins that write country music. From all of the students i have talked to, everyone thought it was an opportunity of a lifetime.
