Greys 6th May

Date: 5th May 2022 @ 4:43pm

I cannot believe another week has gone by so quickly already!

In Maths, we've continued with statistics - looking at and interpreting pictograms where they have a scale of either 2, 5, 10 - our times tables knowledge has really come in handy with this!

In spellings, the year 2s have been investigating the suffix -ly and -less. We have continued to have a massive focus on handwriting in Greys class at the moment - year 1s are persevering with their lead ins and outs to correct form letters and year 2s are experimenting with their letter joins - some also trying to start incorporate this into other areas of their writing.

In English, we have continued our work linked to the Bog Baby, firstly by interviewing Mrs White to ask questions and find out more about caring for guinea pigs and looking after other pets in general. Today, we have considered what food and other requirements the Bog Baby might need if we were to keep him as a pet.

In topic, we have been continuing our investigation into where different people live, our focus this week was the rainforest with the Awa Tribe who live in a remote section of the Amazon Rainforest. We compared their way of lives to our own and looked more closely at their style of housing and why this may be.

With Madame Savage, the children have been learning numbers up to 31 to aid them in reciting the date in French.

Have a lovely weekend everyone!
