Greys 17th December 2021

Date: 17th Dec 2021 @ 12:55pm

The end of term is finally here and what a term it has been!

We have had an amazing term and the children have come into school every day with smiles on their faces, eager to catch up with friends and ready to learn.

We began the week with a little question and answer session about my move to Jersey at Easter and we looked at where Jersey was on the map. Hopefully I have answered all of their questions and I have reassured them that next term is going to be the best term ever, with lots of fun and two trips already booked.

This week we finally got to do our RE day, in which we talked about different festivals and celebrations throughout the world. We focussed on how and why we celebrate these occasions worldwide and it was great fun finding out about birthdays, Hanukkah, Guru Nanak’s birthday and the Nativity.

We also had our DT day in which we made our own clay decorations and designed and created Christmas mobiles with them.

We have had a lovely week making lots of different decorations and even made some reindeer food to sprinkle in the garden on Christmas Eve.

We then compared that story to Mog’s Christmas, working in pairs to think about the similarities and differences between the two. We wrote questions that we would like to ask Mog and then took turns hot seating in the role of Mog and the interviewer. We finished off our Mog week by pretending to be Mog and writing diary entries about our Christmas calamity.

In Maths we used tally charts to count 2d shape and revised counting in 2s, 5s and 10s and our number bonds,

Please continue to read over the holidays, but most of all have fun!

Many thanks for your cards and gifts and all of your support this term. We hope you all have a magical Christmas and look forward to seeing you all in 2022.
