Greys 9th November

Date: 9th Nov 2018 @ 12:52pm

Greys class have had another busy week.

In Maths the Year 1s have been working with odd and even numbers and working out which numbers can be divided equally by 2, whilst the Year 2s have been doubling and halving 2 digit numbers. We also worked out fractions of shapes.

In LIteracy we have spent a lot of time thinking of adjectives and verbs to describe the seasons and on Wednesday we went onto the common on a damp, windy day to collect ideas of what we could see, how it felt and thought of adjectives and verbs to describe our ideas. We then used our ideas to create our Autumnal poem in Big Write.

Mrs Todaro and Miss Miles taught us all about Diwali and we designed diva lamps in our sketch books and will use our plans to create the diva lamps using clay next week.

In Phonics the Year 1s have been learning the alternative ch, ou and ai sounds whilst the Year 2s have been focussing on -al and -il.

We began our new topic 'What would Paddington Bear find exciting about Henley on Thames?' and brainstormed ideas as to where we would take Paddington when we visit Henley. We then used google maps to locate different places in Henley.

We have been busy practising for the Christmas play so please practise your words if you have them.

Show and Tell next week is about Henley;

Monday - Evie

Tuesday - Madeleine

Wednesday - Georgia

Thursday - Charlie

Friday - Darcy

On Tuesday morning we will be taking Paddington into Henley and walking around the town to discover exciting places for Paddington to visit. We will leave school between 9:15 and 9:30 and be back at school in time for lunch. Please ensure that your child has a waterproof coat in school for the trip.

Can I please remind you to bring in a water bottle, coat and outdoor shoes every day. PE kit should also be in school every day.

Have a lovely weekend.
