Greys class 13th December

Date: 12th Dec 2019 @ 5:25pm

Greys class have had another busy week preparing for Christmas. We have been practising the play every day and are looking forward to performing on Monday. A big thank you to you all for bringing in your costumes this week. Performances will be at 2:30pm and 6pm on Monday. Can children please be back at school for 5:40 on Monday in full costume.

We have been making Christmas cards and used clay to make decorations, focussing on its properties and the the changes that took place as it dried. We have also been busy sewing our puppets and will hopefully be bringing them home soon.

In Literacy we have been reading Mog's Christmas Calamity and also watched the video version to help us remember more detail. We then ordered the events of the story in pairs, created story maps and wrote a recount of the story in Big Write.

Mrs Hawkins is reading The Christmasaurus and the Winter Witch by Tom Fletcher to us as our class read and we are absolutely loving this book!

On Wednesday morning we had a lovely walk before enjoying a fantastic Christmas lunch and a visit to Father Christmas. Thank you so much to everyone  who helped make this such a special day.

On Thursday morning Mrs Rancombe came in for a Science workshop whereby we performed all sorts of tests on different materials, before trying to decide which ones we would use for different parts of a house. She then performed a very exciting experiemnt which produced some elephant's toothpaste, it was quite a sight to see! Thank you so much Mrs Rancombe for a fun filled morning.

There will be no show and tell next week but please feel free to bring in any Christmas books that you may wish to share with your classmates.

Have lovely weekend.
