Greys class 15th October

Date: 15th Oct 2021 @ 12:56pm

This week we have been reading a story called Gregory Cool, which is about a little boy who goes to visit family that he has never met before in Tobago. We enjoyed reading the story and comparing Tobago to life here in the UK.

We also read The Train Ride and it inspired us to write some expanded noun phrases about what we might see in the countryside if we were to go on a train ride. Then we used interesting vocabulary to create some beautiful descriptions. We learned all about George Stephenson and are looking forward to finding out more about steam engines next week.

Wednesday was a very exciting day, as it began with our first visit to Church for some of us and we loved performing our song to everyone. It was so lovely to all be together again in Church. When we got back to school we found out all about Viking longboats, and in the afternoon, designed, labelled and made our very own. The following day we wrote a set of instructions as to how to make one. We used different verbs and adverbs in our sentences to make our writing more interesting.

In Maths we continued our work on fact families and then went on to comparing addition and subtraction sentences and working on our number bonds.

Thank you to Henry and Lily for this week’s book reviews of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone and Esio Trot.

Next week book reviews will be Charlie, Max and Lara. Templates can be found on in the homework section of School spider or please feel free to create your own,
