Greys class 16th July

Date: 15th Jul 2021 @ 8:19pm

This week in Greys class we learned about Mary Anning and wrote factfiles about her. We thought about what a dinosaur would need to survive and its life processes and compared the differences between things that are living, dead, and things that have never been alive. Later in the week we explored the habitats of minibeasts and other animalsm and how they are dependent on each other.

On Tuesday and Wednesday mornings we had our transition mornings and the Year 2s went in to Highmoor to be reunited with their Year 3 classmates in preparation for September and had a lovely time with Mrs Claridge, Mrs Hall and Mrs Cleall. The Year1s stayed in Greys class and whole heartedly welcomed Peppard class into our little world. We spent the mornings creating items for display in the classroom in September, playing games and getting to know our new classmates.

We have been understanding the importance of data in our Computing lessons this week and have used the https://www.j2e.com/jit5 website to help us input our data and arrange it into pictograms and a variety of charts. The children have used this website before as part of our animation topic and loved being able to create their own charts without having to physically draw them with pen and paper.

Can all children please bring in a named plastic carrier bag next week.

Thank you to the book reviewers for this week;

Homework

There are no spellings for next week, so if you could continue to read daily and update GoRead! that would be wonderful. Please do continue practising the songs at home in preparation for the Leavers’ assembly.

Have a lovely weekend!
