Greys class 21st June

Date: 21st Jun 2019 @ 3:20pm

Greys class had a great start to the week with a visit to Whipsnade Zoo to learn all about African animals. We had a super day and were very lucky to have such perfect weather for exploring the Zoo and walking all of 5 miles! A big thank you to Mr Tanner for driving the minibus for us and for the parents who came along to help.

In Maths the Year 1s have been using their knowledge of number bonds to add single digit numbers to 2 digit numbers and the Year 2s have been using a variety of methods to add and subtract 2 digit numbers.

We wrote our own stories using ideas from what we have been learning about Zahra over the last couple of weeks, describing our characters and settings in detail, using powerful verbs and expanded noun phrases and trying to make our writing as exciting as possible. We are looking forward to sharing our stories with each other next week.

In Geography we placed the different African animals in their habitats and in Science we learned all about the 7 life processes of all living things.

We completed our African landscape collages which are now on display for you all to see.

Many thanks to all of you who came to listen to our Forgiveness poem in Church on Wednesday, we also thought of times when we have shown Forgiveness which we have put onto our values tree for you all to see.

Practise for Peter Pan continues on a daily basis and we are getting very excited about the perfomance.

Show and Tell next week is...

Monday - Amelie

Tuesday - Arthur

Wednesday - Emilia

Thursday - Thea

Friday - Rosamund.

Have a lovely weekend.
