Greys class 29th November

Date: 29th Nov 2019 @ 3:08pm

This week we have been busy doing a variety of assessments and a big well done to everyone for your positive attitude and focus during these.

We have also had a lot of fun and have begun to get into the Christmas spirit somewhat early by beginning to read our class read of 'The Chirstmasaurus and the Winter Witch', which we are all enjoying. We have also been practising the play every day with Peppard class and are really getting to know the songs now. If you have words or songs to learn it would be really helpful if you could practise them over the weekend if you have time.

In Literacy we thought about three important people in our lives, their hobbies and interests and what presents we would get for them. We then wrote letters to Mrs Claus asking for those presents for our special people and explaining why we had chosen them. We practised using but, and and so in our sentences.

In Maths the Year 1s have been calcualting 1 or 2 more or less than a number up to 100 and then  working with ordinal numbers, deciding which position objects were in. The Year 2s were adding multiples of 10 and nearly numbers (those ending in 9) to a 2 digit number using a number square and beaded line. This proved rather tricky at first, but by the end of Friday's lesson everybody was feeling very proud of themselves and the progress they had made during the week.

We have cut out the patterns for our puppets and will be beginning to sew them next week.

Show and Tell next week is to bring in a Chirstmas book to share with us, and you need to be able to tell your classmates why you recommend the book and your favourite part.

Monday - Amelie

Tuesday - Arthur

Wednesday - Islay

Thursday - Thea

Friday - Phoebe

Have a lovely weekend!
