Greys class 6th December 2019

Date: 6th Dec 2019 @ 4:18pm

Greys class have well and truly entered into the Christmas spirit this week. We have been reading 'Twas the night before Christmas by Clement C. Moore and began the week by using adjectives and similes to describe Santa. We then wrote a list of Santa's rules using commands, statements and exclamations. On Wednesday we moved onto exploring rhyme and repetititon in poems and spotted rhymes in different Christmas songs. Then on Friday we wrote our own Christmas poems about Christmas Day, using rhyme or repetition and in some cases both! We are looking forward to sharing our poems with each other next week.

In Maths the Year 1s have been working with their number bonds and finding 1 and 10 more and less on a number square. Meanwhile, the Year 2s have been using a variety of strategies to add 2 digit numbers.

We learned all about Advent and the meaning of the Advent wreath.

In PSHE we discussed the differences between friendly joking, teasing and bullying and suggested a variety of ways that we should react to the these types of behaviour.

We continued to make our puppets and finsihed creating their faces, ensuring that they matched our designs. We then began to sew or glue them together.

Show and Tell has been very Christmassy with Arthur and Amelie kickstarting the week with their amazing homemade reindeer and then others sharing their favourite Christmas books.

Show and Tell next week will also be sharing your favourite Christmas book.
