Greys class Wednesday 31st March

Date: 31st Mar 2021 @ 12:40pm

This week has been a short week and a busy one.

We continued with our topic of What was it like when the Queen came to the throne?  This week we learned about the origins of the Union flag, more commonly known as the Union Jack and compared life after school in 1953 to life after school now.

We spent some time drawing portraits of the Queen. We carefully tried to copy a photograph of her before mixing the correct colours together to create some interesting skin tones, which proved a lot trickier than it first looked. We look forward to seeing these on display on our return to school after Easter.

In Maths the Year 1s have been recapping on adding and subtracting whilst the Year 2s have continued with their work on fractions, finding a half, quarter and a third.

The spellings for after the holidays are on last Friday’s blog, School Spider in the homework section and Spelling shed. Please continue to read as much as you can over the holidays, making sure that you are also able to answer questions about what you have read.

Year 2s continue with your times tables and division facts for 2s as we will continue to do these daily next term. Year 1s if you can practise your number bonds to 10 and 20 that would be amazing, it is making such a difference to those that are practising regularly.

Have a well deserved break and we look forward to seeing you all back in school for our Summer term.
