Highmoor 10th March

Date: 17th Mar 2023 @ 10:31am

Welcome to our week in Highmoor.

In maths year 3s continued to work with fractions, ordering them by placing them on number lines and thinking about equivalent fractions. We finished our fractions topic and will move on to mass and capacity next week. Year 4 are learning about decimals. We have been focusing on tenths. Looking at them on a place value grid, on number lines, using fraction equivalents and dividing 1 and 2 digit numbers by 10.

We are continuing to read The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane and planned and wrote our own missing chapters of the book. There were lots of different ideas about what might happen to Edward next on his journey and we tried to include fronted adverbials and use 'show don't tell' to describe his emotions.

In history we researched the Shang Dynasty in China and will continue to find out about other ancient civilisations to compare them to Egypt.

We had a great time on Thursday with Springwood class as they tried out their new Active Leaders games with us. We are looking forward to break and lunch times when we can do more of this.

Homework is Doodle maths, times tables, spellings and to read every day. Thank you for your support with this. It makes a big difference.

Have a great weekend everyone. I hope all Mums have a lovely day on Sunday.
