Highmoor 24th June

Date: 24th Jun 2022 @ 2:16pm

Wow! What a week we are having!

The children have been absolutely amazing all throughout this very busy week. The highlight of which was our performance at the Kenton. We hope you enjoyed watching it as much as we did performing it! All children in school did a brilliant job and helped make the day the success it was. All our hard work practising paid off! Highmoor did a fabulous job of their 2 songs with smiles on their faces. Thank you parents for your support with costumes and logistics.

Sports day/evening was another lovely community event. All children did themselves proud and had a fun few hours. Thank you again parents for your support!

Back in the classroom we finished reading Journey by Aaron Becker and will use this as a base for our writing going forwards.

In maths year 3s have continued working with length, converting between mm, cm and m and solving word problems. Year 4s have been learning about perimeter and have been calculating the perimeter of rectangles and rectilinear shapes and solving tricky missing value or word problems.

In geography we added more detail to our 2D maps of Earth, locating each continents highest mountain and longest river. We also investigated, streets, towns, counties and continents to the N, S, E and W of our school.

I hope you get a chance to relax over the weekend at some point, for those of you that are camping out - enjoy!!
