Highmoor 25th March

Welcome to another week in Highmoor.

In literacy we finished reading reading The Tin Forest. We explored how the old man's emotions had changed over the story and wrote 2 diary entries one when he was sad and one when he was happy. We used a thesaurus to find new vocabulary to express his emotions. We also started to explore persuasive texts ready to write a letter from the old man next week.

In Eric we have continued to read Butterfly Lion and summarised chapters and had fun acting out part of the book.

We started to learn how to divide 2 and 3 digit numbers by 1 digit. We used place value charts to start with and are moving towards using the bus stop method when we are ready. We also continued with telling the time.

In music we played recorders and are getting better at reading g music. We performed Old Macdonald in small groups.

We had lots of fun in PE improving our map skills creating maps for other children to use to navigate around obstacles.
