Highmoor 1st July

Welcome to another week in Highmoor.

It has been another busy week with transition mornings and assessments. Wednesday and Thursday saw the year 4s spend the morning in Springwood and the year 2s came to join Highmoor. All children had fun mornings and enjoyed getting to know their old classmates again.

On Tuesday we did maths and reading assessments and wrote our personal comments to go on our reports.

In maths year 3s were adding, subtracting and converting lengths. Year 4 finished looking at perimeter and have started to learn about area.

In literacy we spent some time summarising the events of the book Journey in groups and then made our own story maps. 

We have continued to read 80 Days Around the World in Eric and have been using our retrieval and inference skills to answer questions on the text.

Next week should be a quieter more 'normal' week which we are all looking forward to!
