Highmoor 9th December

Welcome to our week in Highmoor.

This week has been assessment week. All children worked hard to complete reading and maths assessments and should be very proud of themselves for the effort they put in.

We finished our geography topic with a quiz about all the different things we've learnt about coasts and spent some time investigating a coastal area in another country.

In PSHE we talked about being media wise and how the media can influence us.

In literacy we finished Michael Morpurgo's version of Hansel and Gretel and will be writing our own versions next week. We also investigated coordinating conjunctions and how they join 2 simple sentences together to make a bigger compound sentence.

In maths year 4s have been multiplying numbers by 10 and learning about factor pairs. Year 3s have been looking at what exactly multiplication means by investigating arrays and the 2 times table.

We had another great practical science lesson where we were investigating the drainage qualities of different types of soil and recorded our results in a table.
