Highmoor week commencing 10th June

Date: 14th Jun 2019 @ 12:41pm

This week has been a short week but we have managed to fit lots in!

In maths the year 3s were adding three or four 2-digit numbers using column addition. We also had to estimate the answers. We moved on to finding the difference between amounts of money. The year 4s revised numbers with one decimal place by marking them on number lines and rounding to the nearest whole. We moved on to look at numbers with 2 decimal places on place-value grids. We multiplied and divided numbers by 10 and 100 to give tenths, and hundredths. We found equivalent 1/100s and 0.01s, 1/10s and 0.1s and finally carried out place value additions and subtractions.

We have been practising singing the song 'World in Union' and playing tunes on our recorders ready for next week when we will take part in 'The Big Blowout' involving other local schools at Chiltern Edge.

Our value this term is Forgiveness and we have been thinking about what it means. We are looking forward to sharing our thoughts with you next week in the Church service.

We have also spent some time learning our songs for the Peter Pan production at the Kenton. You should all have received a letter and picture detailing the costume we need. Please do speak to Mrs Claridge or Miss Tillotson about it if you have any questions.
