Highmoor week commencing 26th April

Welcome to another week in Highmoor.

In maths this week the year 4s have been working with money solving tricky multi step problems involving addition and subtraction. Year 3s are continuing with fractions and have been looking at tenths and placing fractions on a number line.

In literacy we have continued to study the myth of Romulus and Remus and the founding of Rome. We wrote dialogue between the brothers taking care to punctuate it correctly and started to write part of the story using fronted adverbials and complex sentences and lots of description. With Mrs Smith we have continued to learn about how children live in different countries in Africa. We have learnt about compound and complex sentences and have incorporated them into our writing
