Highmoor week commencing 28 June

Date: 2nd Jul 2021 @ 10:40am

Welcome to another week in Highmoor.

We had a lovely morning on Tuesday when we had a special visit from Feathers and Fur. We found out lots of interesting facts about some of our native birds of prey. We saw a barn owl, kestrel, peregrine falcon and buzzard. Bailey the barn owl spent most of the visit trying to attract a mate by making an eerie screeching sound!

We found out about some Roman sites in Britain in history. We spent a while investigating the Roman baths in Bath ready to write a leaflet in literacy next week to persuade people to come and visit.

In maths year 3 have continued with the topic of time. We introduced the 24 hour clock which proved quite tricky for lots of us. It would be really helpful if you could tell the time as often as possible at home as this is a key life skill and will really help embed the knowledge. Year 4s continued to learn about decimals including both tenths and hundredths.

We continued with our Roman mosaics in art taking care to place our tesserae so that they don't overlap.

Homework is spellings and Sumdog. Please don't forget to read every day too and practise the times table you are focusing on too.

Have a great weekend everyone!
