Highmoor week commencing 28th January

Date: 3rd Feb 2019 @ 11:09am

Welcome to the last week in January in Highmoor! The days and weeks are whizzing by - helped by the 4 day week this week! We hope you all enjoyed the snow on Friday and managed to get out and about and make a snowman or go sledging.

This week in maths we have been focussing on measurements and converting between different units. We started by looking at centimetres and metres and moved on to include millimetres. We also began looking at weight and thinking about how heavy a kilogram is. We got to feel different objects and estimate how heavy we thought they were. We will continue to look at these measurements and how they relate to each other next week.

In literacy we have been continuing with our poetry and looking at the language used to create images. We wrote our own poems using metaphors and critiqued and compared other poems.

Our Bollywood dancing moves are getting more impressive as we put them together to perform short dance routines for each other.

We have been thinking about this terms value - thankfulness. We are looking forward to sharing our thoughts with you in the Church service next week.
