Highmoor week commencing 9th December

Date: 13th Dec 2019 @ 5:15pm

This week in Highmoor we really started to feel like Christmas is coming!

We made cards for our families which we hope you like. We all had the same materials to make a Christmas tree but some of us designed our trees quite differently to others. All finished cards looked great. We had a lovely Christmas lunch on Wednesday eating together as a whole school. And we were lucky enough to meet Father Christmas too! Before lunch we all went on a wintery walk whilst everything was being set up for us. Thank you to everyone that came and helped and made it possible.

In Literacy we finished writing our non chronological reports about Prehistoric Britain and we also started to write our Iron Man stories.

We did some street dancing on Monday in PE which was great fun. We made up our mini routines including some cool moves! We also learned how moving together as a whole group looks really effective.

Maths has been all about fractions and finding fractions of amounts. We used lots of hands on resources to help us with this tricky concept.

In Science we investigated pitch with various instruments. We discovered which made high or low pitched sounds. It was quite a noisy lesson!

Homework this week is to create your own fraction game. Don't forget to practise times tables too.
