Peppard class - 06.12.2019

Date: 6th Dec 2019 @ 8:27pm

Welcome to our week.  The children have been really busy getting their Christmas presents made for you.  They have used different skills in the process using both wood and clay.   Next week we will be sewing and using plaster.

We have had a variety of activities on offer to support the children with their writing this week.  The children have been writing their Christmas lists and developing their skills writing sounds, captions and sentences.  The home corner has been extended and their are lots of reading and writing opportunities included in the role play.

In phonics this week we have been learning and practising digraphs.  We have been reading and writing using sh, ch, th and ng.  We have been looking at different words and spotting the digraphs.

In maths, we have been learning about number 8.  We have doubled numbers to 8, looked at number bonds to 8, added and subtracted using number blocks and some of the children have been solving number problems and recording their answers.

We have been rehearsing our Nativity play with Greys class.  We will be spending time rehearsing next week so we will not be doing show and tell.  You should all have had a slip with your child's costume.  Please come and see us or email the office if there are any queries.

Have a lovely weekend.
