Peppard Class - 10th May 2019

Date: 9th May 2019 @ 6:20pm

Welcome to our week in Peppard Class.

We had a wonderful time on our school trip to the River and Rowing museum.  The children started their session by drawing a picture of what they thought an insect looks like.  Then, they learned all about the features of an insect before making a clay model using their new knowledge.  After they finished their model, we went outside to find some minibeasts and insects.  We were very excited to find woodlice, baby May bug, worms.  Most excitingly, Jake and his mummy found a frog.  It was such a lovely, practical day out.

In phonics this week, we have been learning some phase 4 tricky words.  We are encouraging the children to spell the tricky words correctly rather than phonetically.  We are sending home spelling books with tricky words each week.  Please can you support your child to write and check them a few times during the week.  We would like the spelling books back on Thursday so we can attach the next phase of tricky words.

In maths this week, we have been ordering numbers and practising writing numbers to 20.  The children all used the Very Hungry Caterpillar to order food.  We have also been practising our days of the week and some of the children have been writing them.

Show and tell will be back to normal next week.

Happy weekend.
