Peppard Class - 18th January

Date: 18th Jan 2019 @ 12:27pm

Welcome to our week in Peppard Class.

In phonics this week we have been learning some phase 3 vowel digraphs.

oo, ar and or

We have also been pracisting our phase 2 and phase 3 tricky words.  This phase is trickier for the children so it would be great if you could play some games with your child.

There are lots of free games on Phonicsplay.

In maths this week, we have been using the dinosaurs to add and take away.  The children are beginning to write their own number sums and then using the dinosaurs to work them out.  We have started to learn a number dinosaur rhyme which we hope to perform for you in a couple of weeks.

We have loved learning more information about the dinosaurs.  On Monday, we thought about what we already know and what we want to find out.  On Tuesday, we had our super trip to the dinosar museum.  We had a talk and the opportunity to touch some fossils including dinosaur poo!  Our teacher, Chris, can make the most amazing dinosaur noises!  We used our story "We are going on a dinosaur hunt" to start our tour around the museum.  We saw some fantastic dinosaurs alongside gems and rocks.

The children finished the week with a dinosaur movement session.

Please remember to read with your child each day, we will be giving out the book prize on Monday!

Show and Tell is on your child's key day.

Please check back in for some fabulous photographs from our trip.  I will try to load them over the weekend.
