Peppard Class - 2nd November 2018

Date: 2nd Nov 2018 @ 2:34pm

Welcome to our week in Peppard class.

We started the week by writing our news. The children were very excited to draw pictures of their half term. We put the pictures together and made our own newspaper for our book corner.

In phonics this week, we have been looking at some some consonant digraphs. These are ‘ll’, ‘ss’, ‘ff’. We have also been revising the tricky words ‘into’, ‘to’, ‘the’, ‘I’, and ‘no’.

In maths this week, I have been working with each individual child on number ordering and addition. The children are beginning to write the numbers and make their own number sums.  11-15 are proving the trickiest so please do point these numbers out if you see them when you are out and about.

We have learned all about Guy Fawkes and we have done some Bonfire and firework crafts this week, the children have enjoyed ball rolling painting to make their designs. Then we used glitter!

In continuous provision, the children have enjoyed purposeful writing. Some of the children got together to make some ‘get well soon’ cards for their friend.

Outside, the children have been developing their ideas and creating army tanks, volcanoes, and a variety of other ideas. We love to observe the creative thinking and teamwork.

In PE we did a firework dance session. The children were great at following instructions and using their bodies imaginatively.

Please come along to Church on Wednesday morning for the school Remembrance service. Our class will be singing a song.

We are enjoying Show and Tell but we are going to limit it.  The children all have a 'key child day'.  This is the day that we carry out our observations for individual next steps, they collect the register, read with a teacher and cook.

Monday - Islay, Phoebe, Josh

Tuesday - Esther, Sable, Lucas

Wednesday - Ruby, Amelie, Jake

Thursday - Summer, Willow, Lucien

Please bring Show and Tell on these days.
