Peppard class - 30th November 2018

Date: 26th Nov 2018 @ 11:05pm

Welcome to our week in Peppard Class.

We started the week with our news.  The children were articlate and interesting when talking about their weekend and they listened to the other children.  They drew some lovely pictures and wrote some labels and captions.

In maths this week, we have been making cakes.  We have been using the balancing method and making sure the scales balance with each ingredient and the eggs.  Once the children finished cooking, they did all the washing up.

In choosing time, lots of the children decided to make their own Stickman or Stick lady love.  They chose their materials carefully and asked for support when they needed it.  It was so enjoyable to work alongside them.   Outside, we have been observing the children using their creative thinking to design and make a building out of large construction.  It was so sturdy that they could stand on the top of it!

In phonics this week, we have been practising our tricky words.  We played 'beat the bell' and we played a game with a magician and a bunny who helped us make our tricky words magic!  We then practised writing our tricky words.

We have loved creating our story about Stickman and we hope that you enjoyed coming to school to see the children's hard work.  Please can you let us know if Stickman has not visited your house yet.  We will send him home so you can get the final pictures of his Peppard class tour.

If you have time over the weekend, please can you spend a few minutes writing with your child.  We are working on letter shapes and formation.
