Welcome to our week in Peppard class.

In phonics this week, we have learned the new digraphs and triagraphs - ear, air and er.  We have played some games, sung some songs and practised reading and writing using these sounds.

In maths this week, we have been learning all the number bonds to 10 and using different concrete and visual representations to help us.  The children have also watched the numberblocks and used the characters to help them learn the number bonds.  We have also been practising counting forwards and backwards.

Our topic has been the Chinese New Year.  It is a lovely topic with an interesting story.  The children used the stage to act out the story while it was read to them.  They have enjoyed listening to Chinese music, playing in our Chinese restaurant and watching a short video about the celebrations.  We looked at China on our globe and enjoyed the lovely resources that Talia brought in.
