Welcome to our week in Peppard class

In Phonics this week, we have been recapping on the digraphs 'sh', 'th', 'ch', and 'ng'.  We have been playing some fun games including our new game called 'swapsies'.  The children are engaged in the lesson and some of them have been practising their writing during their choosing time.  We have also been practising our tricky words and spotting 'grotty graphemes'.

In maths this week the children have been leanring their number bonds to 10.  Most of them have been using mathematical resources to support their learning.  I am very impressed with their number recognition to 10 and beyond.  In choosing time, a couple of the children were counting to 100 using the hundred square.  

We have read a new story called 'Jesus' Christmas party' this week.  The children have been introduced to adjectives and drew a picure of their favourite character in the story and used an adjective to describe them.  

In choosing time, we have been making all sorts of creations from grasshoppers to mansions!  The children have started to work on some Christmas activities and letters.

We are looking forward to the play on Monday.  Please do bring 'show and tell' again next week.  We will have more time once the play has finished.
