Welcome to our week in peppard Class.

We have enjoyed our phonics lessons this week.  We have been learning some digraphs and enjoying the little catchphrases that go with each sound.

In maths this week, we have been exploring numbers 1-5.  We have been looking at number equations and introducing pictorial and abstract versions of numbers up to 5.  We have been looking at number bonds to 5 and using a variety of resources to practise.  Our snack shop was one more and one less than a given number and the children love the Count to 100 everyday video which is exercise and counting to 100.

I was lucky enough to visit Highclere castle this week, I brought some pictures to show the children.  They then worked in a team and the designed and built a castle with the duplo.  It was wonderful to observe the children communicating and compromising and being pleased with their results. 

We have begun talking about festivals this week, including Hannukah and Christmas.  We have started some Christmas crafts and activities.  

The children have spent time rehearsing the school play with Greys class.  They then came back into our class and made their own scripts and sang the songs beautifully!  

Please can you remember to read and bring in books daily.  We can see the progress the children are making.  PLEASE CAN YOU CHECK IF YOU HAVE ANY OF OUR BOOKS AT HOME. Thank you.

Tickets have gone out for the evening performance of our play.  There are two per family.

Show and tell will be impacted by the play so we will cancel it next week.
