Peppard Class - 13th May 2021

Date: 13th May 2021 @ 2:10pm

Welcome to our week in Peppard class.

In maths we have been learning about 'first, then, now' mathematical stories.  The children needed to solve problems to complete the maths story.  We used a variety of resources including numicon and counting cubes.

In phonics we have been learning a variety of new sounds and practising phoneme recall.  The children played a fun game where they were human sound buttons.

In our topic lessons, we have continued to learn about the Hungry caterpillar.  We innovated the story, created our own version of the story using the same format and learned about healthy eating choices.  We also learned about some different insects and minibeasts.  We were so excited to receive a lovely gift from the Dipper family, a bug hotel.  We can't wait to find out which minibeasts choose to live in it.

In choosing time, we have observed some super den making.  The children use lots resources and communicate with each other to change and improve their design.  We have also enjoyed helicopter stories and started woodwork again.

Thank you for reading with your children, keep up the good work.  If they are too tired, please share a story with them and keep reading fun!

Have a lovely weekend.
