Peppard class - 21st May 2021

Date: 20th May 2021 @ 3:15pm

Welcome to our very busy week in Peppard class.  We have enjoyed finishing our work about The Very Hungry Caterpillar and we began the story of The Bad Tempered Ladybird.  The children have been working on a small presentation of the story which we look forward to recording next week!

We have also been studying the life cycle of a ladybird and learning about different minibeasts through non fiction texts.

In phonics, we have been recapping and learning new sounds.  The children are getting particularly accurate at writing short sentences.

I have enjoyed a course about the 'message centre' which is designed to bring joy to writing and encourage children to write.  I am aware that many of you have been receiving messages and joining in with the fun.  I have a separate letter to send to you.

In maths, we have had ladybird themed learning.  We have learned about doubling, halving and odds and evens.  We have also studied the number 13.

Other experiences this week include making our own bird/insect boxes, sewing our own ladybirds, reading together, finding a toad and creating a house for it and creating a shop.

Have a lovely weekend.
