Peppard class - 22nd October

Date: 20th Oct 2021 @ 4:48pm

Welcome to our week in Peppard class.

We had a very exciting start to the week when we realised that our dinosaur egg was missing!  We used our phonics to sound out the word 'lost' and we made posters.  The following day, we went to look for the egg and it had hatched on the common!  It was so exciting.  We looked at some dinosaur cards to see what dinosaur it matched and it is a Stegosaurus.  We then drew our new dinosaur and thought of a name.  We put all the names in a hat and picked one out.  The baby dinosaur is called ..... StegoTed.  What a terrific name.

In phonics we have reapped our sounds so far and looked at some picture cards to match to the sound.  We have begun to learn some new tricky words.  We are very proud of the children's writing formation.  They are also beginning to use their phonic knowledge to write.

In maths we have been learning about circles and triangles.  We have played some games, and we have done some sorting and matching.  We have used mathematical vocabulary to describe shapes.  We learned about the artist Kandinsky and made some art work inspired by his work with circles and triangles.

Have a wonderful half term.  After half term we look forward to welcoming Mrs Girdler who will be working on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
