Peppard class - 30th September 2022

Date: 28th Sep 2022 @ 12:23pm

Welcome to our week in Peppard class.

In phonics we have learned the new phonemes and graphemes to represent them:

i,n,m,d

The children have enjoyed looking in the box for objects that start with these phonemes and they have been practising writing the graphemes.

In maths this week, we have been exploring sorting and matching. We have extended this by asking the children to explain why the rule for sorting applies and they have created their own criteria for sorting.

We have been learning to retell the story, The three little pigs. We have used collage and construction to make our own houses from the story. We have used masks to create the characters in role play.

As part of our topic, All about me, we have been reading books about families.  One of the stories we have enjoyed is Owl babies by Martin Waddell.  We did some activities and fact finding about owls.  We watched The Owl who was afraid of the dark which is another lovely family story about owls.

The children had a super PE lesson, and they have begun learning Computing.

We are so incredibly grateful to the FOPs for our superb new garden equipment.  The children have enjoyed it so much and they are already able to challenge themselves and move their learning and development forward because of the resources.

Enjoy our photos from this very busy but productive week.  Happy weekend.
