Peppard class - 7th October 2022

Date: 6th Oct 2022 @ 10:46pm

Welcome to our week in Peppard class

We have enjoyed learning about our senses this week.  We have read some non fiction books about our senses and focused on taste, smell and sight.  We then carried out some activities to support our understanding.  We made some cakes and used all our senses whilst cooking and eating them!  We smelt a variety of different scents and decided if we liked them and guessed what they were.  We learned about how the eye works.  We played a game about remembering what we saw on the tray.

We had a special visitor on Friday.  Our local police officer came to visit us and tell us about his job.  We will use this visit to start us off on next week's topic - People who help us.

In phonics this week, we have learned the phonemes and graphemes:  g,o,c,k

and we learned the tricky word: is

We have read some words and we have been practising our writing, blending and segmenting.

In maths this week, we have been learning about measures.  We carried out some activities to support our knowledge of height, weight, length and comparrisons of different objects.  We enjoyed the story of Goldilocks and thought about the sizes in the story.
