Peppard Class - 11 January 2019
Date: 10th Jan 2019 @ 4:18pm
Welcome to our first week of the new year.
We have been very excited this week, some dinosaurs have left their precious eggs with us. We have been waiting patiently and they finally hatched today! The children have made pictures of what they think the dinosaurs will look like. They have also been writing and drawing observations of the eggs. It has all been very exciting!
In phonics this week, we have been recapping our sounds so far and we have learnt the new trigraph 'igh' and the new digraph 'oa'. We have played some games and written some words using these sounds.
In maths this week, the children have been playing a game that involves subitising. They are very good at recognising the dots on the dice without having to count. We then practised writing numbers to 10, making an extra effort to form them correctly.
During our child led learning times, the children have been enjoying playing together and catching up after the holidays. We have observed some lovely creative thinking outside, some of the children made their own catapults using the wood planks and soft bricks. They thought it through really well.
Please remember that we have our school trip on Tuesday. If you are able to help, please let us know. Any parents who come on the trip will need to park in Oxford and walk up to the museum as there is not any parking there.
