Welcome to our week in Peppard class.

In phonics this week, we have learned the new sounds:

ai, ee, igh, oa 

We have been reading the tricky words:

We have been reading with each child twice a week.  We really appreciate the reading practise that you do at home. Please can you check that all our reading books have been returned - thank you.

In maths this week, we have been looking at composition of numbers to 5, comparing equal and unequal groups, learning about zero and solving problems.  We enjoy taking maths outside and using a variety of larger resources to embed learning through play.  

We have been listening to the story Handa's surprise.  We are learning to retell the story using picture cards and puppets.  We looked on the map to see where Kenya in Africa is and we looked at England and the UK.  

We have introduced Helicopter stories this week.  I will link to the website that gives a little more information.  We used the story of Handa's surprise to learn how to act out a story.
