Playground maths

At the beginning of the week we had our maths lessons in the playground where we were learning about reflection and translation. We drew lines on the ground with chalk and mirrored each others movements, we then went on to draw large grids on the playground and we labelled the X and Y axis. After that we drew shapes and translated and reflected shapes in the horizontal and vertical axis.

Eggs and chicks

On Tuesday, Isay's Mum brought in some chicks for us to look at and stroke before she took them back to the farm. She also brought in 12 eggs and an incubator for us to look after in class. We put them in the warm incubator and told us that not all of them would hatch. We also labelled them and gave them names and we will candle them between 5 to 10 days to see if they are developing properly. We will wait to see how many hatch.

Guitar

On Monday a guitarist from Oxford Music School came to our school during assembly and informed us that he would be offering us individual or small group guitar lessons. He played three songs in assembly which included Believer by Imagine Dragons, an Argentian folk song and a classical song. He was really good and we really enjoyed listening to his music.
