Choosing a school is an important decision for any family, and we aim to make the admissions and transition process as welcoming and supportive as possible. At Peppard, we pride ourselves on being a close, caring school community where every child is known, valued and encouraged to flourish.

Our small school environment allows us to build strong relationships with children and their families from the very beginning. Staff work closely with parents to ensure that each child’s transition into school is positive, reassuring and carefully supported. Children quickly feel settled, confident and ready to learn as they become part of our school family.

Our Early Years provision was recognised by Ofsted as achieving a strong standard. Inspectors highlighted the well-designed curriculum where vocabulary, early reading and mathematics are prioritised. Skilled phonics teaching ensures that children quickly develop the essential foundations for reading and writing, while careful assessment allows staff to understand each child’s starting point and support them to thrive. As a result, children develop confidence, independence and are well prepared for the transition into Year 1.

We welcome 15 pupils into Reception each year, with occasional places becoming available in other year groups when families move into the area. Prospective parents are warmly encouraged to visit the school to experience the calm, nurturing atmosphere and see our learning in action.
