Peppard class - 18.06.2024
Date: 18th Jun 2024 @ 2:37pm
Welcome to our week in Peppard class. We have been reading phase 4 words that have consonant blends and 's' on the end. We are so impressed with the childrens' reading skills!
We have been writing short decodable sentences in lessons and encouraging creative writing during our choosing time, for example, in the home corner.
In maths we have been practising our number bonds, number composition and problems. The children have been using resources, games and making their own pictures to answer mathematical problems. On Friday, we learned about maps and their uses. We then heard the Gruffalo story before making our own maps of the Little Mouse's woodland route.
In our topic lessons, we learned about fossils and explored some fossils, including some dinosaur poo! We read a non fiction book about Mary Anning. We then made some salt dough fossils of our own.
The children have enjoyed practising for sports day and we hope you enjoy the event.
As ever, please read daily with your child, repitition is essential for fluency and progress.
