Peppard class - 4/11/2024

Welcome to our week in Peppard class. 

We have had a fabulous time learning about some exciting Autumn festivals.  We started the week with a Diwali afternoon.  We read some stories and watched some videos to find out more about where the festival orginated, the story of Rama and Sita and some of the traditions.   We then made our own Rangoli patterns outside and we created our own Diva lamps.

On Tuesday, we learned all about Guy Fawkes and Bonfire night.  It was exciting to hear the historical story that led to our yearly celebrations.  We did the most wonderful mixed media firework pictures.  Please do come and have a look, they are on our window.

In phonics we are working in two smaller groups.  We have been learning and practising our sounds and tricky words.  We have started sounding out and writing words.

In maths, we have been practising subitising, conceptual subitising, and composition of 4 and 5.

It is always a joy to observe and join in with the children as they choose activities and ideas to consolidate their knowledge and skills.
